✦ Questions & answers ✦
We've got answers. Some of them even useful.
Yes. We ship to most countries. Costs depend on destination and the size of the piece — a sacred medal ships very differently to a Hollywood Regency mirror. For large or fragile items we'll arrange a custom quote. Contact us first and we'll figure it out.
Honestly described and photographed. Vintage means character, not damage — but we make the distinction. If something has a crack, a ding, foxing on the mirror glass or a slightly cross-eyed expression (that's just Fleddy), we'll say so. What you see is what you get.
Yes. If you're interested but not quite ready to commit, get in touch and we'll hold it for a reasonable time. We're not a waiting list of forty-seven people. Just tell us you want it.
Bank transfer for most purchases. For international buyers we can arrange alternatives depending on where you are. Contact us first and we'll work something out.
We'd rather fix any problem directly. If something arrives damaged or genuinely isn't as described, contact us immediately and we'll sort it. What we don't take back: things you've decided you don't love anymore after three weeks. That's called collecting. It happens to us too.
Yes. All our taxidermy pieces were created before current wildlife protection laws applied, or involve species that are not protected. Nothing we sell would cause problems with customs. Gertrude's paperwork is entirely in order. She may not look it, but it is.
Yes. We buy what we know and describe it honestly. We're not an auction house with certificates for everything — but we handle each piece carefully, research where we can, and tell you exactly what we know. If we're unsure about something, we say so. We'd rather say 'we think' than pretend certainty we don't have.
Sometimes. If you have something interesting that feels like it could belong here, get in touch. We're particularly drawn to mid-century furniture, vintage lighting, taxidermy, old advertising objects and things with a story. We're not interested in flat-pack. No offence.
Whenever we find something worth adding, which happens when it happens. We're at flea markets most weekends, and we photograph and list things as soon as we can. Follow us for updates, or just check back. Pico supervises the inventory from the garden.
We don't have a physical shop (yet). Everything lives with us until it finds a new home. But if you're local to Lokeren and want to see something in person before committing, we can sometimes arrange it. Ask nicely and we'll see what we can do.
Chief Sunbathing Officer and head of quality control. He has never bought anything vintage, but he has sat on several things and is not sorry. He does not technically work here. He knows this. We keep him anyway.
Just ask. We're friendly, we read everything, and we'll get back to you. Pico may also be listening from the garden.
